Meet Our Sadie

The boys after we told them we were going to adopt!

We welcomed Sadie into our home over the weekend.  She's a 2 year old Corgi/Chihuahua mix.  She's super sweet and is loving all the attention!!  We rescued her from a shelter in town.

Early Birthday Party for Cam

We had an early birthday party for Cameron on Friday.  He invited a handful of friends and enjoyed the water slide and other fun features at the Aquatic Center.  It was a great kick-off to his birthday weekend!

First Days of School 2015-16

The boys started school this week - Ashton on Wednesday and Ethan and Cameron on Thursday.  Everyone's had a great start and are happy!  Soccer and band performances start soon so - here we go!

StubHub Center Tour

Derrik and Cameron got a tour of StubHub Center where the Galaxy play.  They got to go into the locker room, see the gym, went on field level, saw the trophies and got pictures with some of the staff!  Such a great opportunity!

Scooter's Jungle

To celebrate the last day of summer, Grandma Hubbard and I took Ashton to Scooter's Jungle.  She went up and down the slide, climbed up into the rope area - she had so much fun!  Ashton felt like he had a great day!

Choir opportunity

I had the opportunity to jump into the church choir last weekend.  Derrik came up on Sunday morning to take some pictures.  I have an interview this week with the director to discuss joining on a more regular basis.  It was so much fun!

Band Camp Preview

Ethan finished week 2 of Band camp and did an amazing job at the preview last night!  We are so proud of all the hard work he has put in.  He has been out on the field M-F, 7 hours each day, carrying a 40 pound drum learning the new field show.  I brought my new camera to get some better distance photos since he is in the very back.  Now he recovers his sore feet and back!

Story Cubes

I caught the boys playing story cubes this week.  Ashton had a case of the giggles listening to the crazy stories his older brothers can make up!

Band Popsicles

Cameron, Ashton and I stopped by Band camp to deliver popsicles to the band and color guard.  It gave me a chance to snap some photos of my boy.

Enrollment Time!

Ethan and Cameron enrolled at their schools this last week.  They now have their school pictures done, textbooks picked up and a t-shirt to show for it.  They will start school this Thursday.  Ashton starts Wednesday.  I now have a junior in high school, an 8th grader and a 5th grader.

Sitting by the pool

We're soaking up as much of summer as we can.  The boys all go back to school next week.  This last week, I took the younger boys to the pool for the afternoon.  Ethan has been at band camp week 1 and finishing a health class in summer school.  He got bass drum this year!  He's so excited and has been working hard to learn his part and manage the heavy drum he'll be carrying.  Week 2 begins this week (labeled "hell week" due to the intensity) and we'll be attending the field show preview on Friday.

Dentist appts

We've been catching everyone up on dentist visits.  Ethan got a cleaning (no cavities!), Cameron got set up on invisalign this week, and Ashton will go later this week - prayers appreciated - he's having 2 baby teeth removed since the teeth have decided to stay and cohabitate with the adult teeth that have already come in.  The boy has serious fears about the dentist.
The invisalign is going well - they secured clear brackets to certain teeth for the clear trays to snap in to.  Once he got past the discomfort and some the scraping, he's been fine with them.  He will switch to the second set of trays later this week.

Can you see the clear brackets?
