Christmas Tree

Yep!  We got the Christmas tree up today!  The boys were very helpful and set things up so fast.  Now we get to start enjoying it!

Hubbard Thanksgiving 2016

We celebrated our Thanksgiving with the elder Hubbards with a fabulous meal at their new apartment in town.  We went to our traditional movie and then a few enjoyed a sit in the hot tub.  We had a lovely time!

Ethan's Last Competiton

Ethan celebrated has finished his last marching band competition season!  There were several photo ops after the championship toast of the seniors.  We also borrowed a gopro from a friend so he got a video of one of his rehearsals last week.  Hard to believe its all over!

SCSBOA Championships: Aliso Niguel

The Saugus Marching Band made an appearance at the 3A championships on Saturday night!  They played their best performance of the season and placed 11th in their division.  Their director, Mr. Jarrett, couldn't go with them because he and his wife celebrated the birth of their new daughter the night before!  Our marching season has come to an end - Ethan's last and Cameron's first!

Bottle Rockets!

Ashton and Brooklyn were partners on the bottle rocket project at school. They had to design a rocket out of a 2 liter bottle.  The first launch was cancelled because of rain but they finally got to launch them today!

Derrik's 43 Birthday

We spent Sunday celebrating Derrik's birthday!  We celebrated both on Friday and Sunday.  Friday, we checked out our newest restaurant chain in town, The Cheesecake Factory, with the parents and were very happy!  Sunday we headed to Kisho for Japanese.  Yum!  Happy Birthday, D!

5th Competition: Moorpark

Saturday's competition was in Moorpark, CA.  The boys were up against some of the toughest competition in the area.  They did not place this time but are guaranteed a spot in championships next Saturday!  They are excited and will be practicing all week to be at their best.  The Hubbards and I made the trip to see them!

Veteran's Day

We had a busy Friday!  My choir from school had a Veteran's Day flag performance on Thursday and both the big boys did a performance at the high school.  Cameron played in the band and Ethan sang with the choir.  The high school unveiled a mural that was recently added to recognize former students who either were currently serving or had served in the military.

4th Competition: Valencia

The boys had their 4th competition on Thursday night.  The band placed in 3rd place in their division!  A big night after a school day but they did great!

Halloween Night

We had a new kind of Halloween night this year.  Ethan went to a party with friends while Cameron and Ashton stayed home and passed out candy.  I think it was one of the first years as parents that Derrik and I were home with the boys.  Times are a'changing!
