Band Rehearsal

 The Band and Guard are practicing in the evenings this year and I volunteered to take the first shift as nurse and water girl.  While there I got some great photos and video of the hard work they do each week to get ready for the season!  

1st Football Game

 We had our first football game and I got some quick photos of Ashton on and off the field.  No halftime show but I did get some warm-up and pregame.

 When the bass line needs a videographer, they call the best.  lol  I volunteered to take a video with my phone for their rehearsal assignment.

Cameron's 21!

Our Cameron is 21!  Since our schedules are all spinning right now, we were able to make his favorite breakfast and then meet for lunch out.  We surprised him by inviting one of his best friends, Chris, to join us!  We also ordered a pina colada to share - yum!  We celebrated a few more times over the next week - family gathering with the grandparents and a lunch with his friends!  How do you celebrate the guy who loves celebrations?  With three parties, of course!  Happy Birthday, Cam!

Clothes for Cash Volunteering

Derrik and I worked at Clothes for Cash yesterday.  It's a fundraiser for Marching band that collects clothing donations and then gets cash back from a company that resells the gently used items.  We did some hauling of bags of clothes and chatting with people there.  It was a fun day!

First Day, Last Year for Ashton

 

Ashton had his first day of his senior year this week!  This is our 10th year at Saugus!  Wow - times flies.  Saugus implemented an 8:30am start time this year and began block scheduling.  Both are new to us so we're working out the kinks and trying to find a rhythm.  Cheers to a great senior year, Ash!  I took a little trip down memory lane, just for fun!

Band Audition

In addition to Marching band, Ashton had to audition for one other band.  We had hoped he would get into the Wind Ensemble because 1) it fits better in his schedule and 2) it's the better band!  lol  He only had a few days to prepare so since I was volunteering in the band room, I encouraged him to come and do some practicing on the marimba and timpani, two of the three parts of his audition.  And - he made it!  So proud of how diligent he was to practice and all his hard work!

 Well, we did another "last" today and got Ashton registered for his last year of high school!  Yippee!
