Summer lizards

As the phone starts ringing with playdate invitations, I found myself alone with Ashton this afternoon and we took the opportunity to just play together.  We hunted for lizards, which he loved!  We played ball in the front for awhile and he pulled out a pose for me!  Good times....

6th grade student and parent Kickball game

The sixth grade class had their yearly kickball match between the students and the parents.  Derrik wanted in the game but I chose to just take pictures.  :)  It was a fun game!  The parents won but we all celebrated afterwards.

Teacher appreciation week and Open House

This was posted outside my classroom a few weeks ago.  I also got a lovely potted plant and handmade cards from my classes!  I think they like me......

At the open house for Ethan, he and his friend Austin displayed their Science project on Friction.  They raced cars over different surfaces and studied the results to determine on which surface the car moved fastest.  We also got to see the finished mask that he started earlier in the year.  Eight more days and we're done!  We're very excited!

Busy Saturday

We had so much fun yesterday but had such a busy day!  We first went over to the school to attend the Spring Carnival.

Ethan had to work at a booth since he is a member of student council.  When I took the picture, they were testing the water-bottle game to see if it worked.

Ashton, Cameron and Derrik had fun either playing on the inflatable slides or in the wii trailer.

Next we headed over to the park to volunteer at our city's Relay for Life.  Our church had a tent for cancer survivors.  We helped out wherever we could and helped people register for a drawing.

We ended the day at church where Ethan graduated from 6th grade Saturday school.  He then headed over to the junior high area and even went out with his friends to a leaders house for what they call "hang time." 'Twas a busy but fun day!

Checkin' out Junior High

Ethan and Derrik visited the junior high that Ethan will attend in the fall.  He got to walk around the building and see where everything is.  A more detailed tour will happen after he gets his schedule.

Teaching weekend

I did some teaching over the weekend for the gal I worked for a few years back.  Cameron was my assistant and was a real trooper!  He took some photos of me in action.
I got do a class with a baby!  It was so fun!

Birthday #37

I had a lovely birthday and felt celebrated for the second time in a week.  Cameron gave me the crown of honor which I wore proudly until the kids went to school.  :)  Derrik took me out for lunch and spoiled me.

The parents treated us to Olive Garden last week and I had a cake with 37 candles on it!  I'm surprised the manager didn't come and ask us to put them out.  They took forever to light but it was so fun!

Thanks for all the bday wishes!

Papa Ron CA visit

Papa Ron stopped by on his west coast tour and we had a lovely time with him!  I had to remember how to cook after he left.  Thankfully, there were a few leftovers in the fridge!  We loved having him!  Thanks, Dad!
