Spring Programs

Cameron and Ashton have both finished their class programs for the year.  Cameron performed "Gold Rush or Bust" and was an argonaut.  Ashton performed "How Does Your Garden Grow?" and shined as a ladybug - with a speaking part!  So proud of these guys and all their hard work!
Got to love the goofy face  :)

Rock the Rhythm

A few of our 6th graders

Our drum leader
The clock timing our drum circle for the record

Rock the Rhythm, Beat the Odds, is a community-wide event that I attended on Friday with 7,600 sixth and seventh graders from local school districts. We met at College of the Canyon’s Cougar Stadium to break a Guinness World Record for the largest drum circle and to promote the importance of arts in our schools.  It was hot but a very rewarding experience!  I didn't get photos of Ethan but he was there as well.  We'll find out in a few weeks if we broke the record or not!

Birthday/Mother's Day

Ashton made this for me at school.  Aww....

Lots of fun over the last few days!  These guys know how to make the only girl in the house feel special.  Lots of eating out, shopping, hugs and homemade cards have filled my cup to overflowing.  I'm a blessed gal!

Dancing the cha-cha

Ethan is enrolled in exploratory dance at school this quarter.  While he isn't thrilled with it, he has learned some cool dances and then comes home to share it with us.  Here he's teaching me the cha-cha.  As you can see, I'm in the middle of cooking dinner which is why I'm wearing a dish towel.  lol

Soccer season wrap-up

Cameron being honored at his soccer party
Cameron and Ashton finished their Spring soccer season this week.  Both received medals and were honored at their team parties.  They had so much fun playing soccer!

The Famous Wibbly-Wobbily Tooth

Ashton's other baby front tooth fell out last week. This was the one that's been loose since last fall.  He wasn't in any rush to let it go.  In fact, he even told us that his tooth told him that it wasn't coming out and just wanted to stay put.  lol  He's growing up!

Huntington Beach with the Plummers

Get ready, set, GO!
Slowly making their way in.
Huntington Beach pier
Ashton stopping long enough for a pic
I've known Susan since 4th grade
Susan's son, Reid with Cameron.  Instead of finding a sand dollar, they found a real one!

My longtime schoolmate and her family were in California for their sons robotic competition and we had the opportunity to drive down and hit the beach with them for the day!  So fun to be at the beach AND hang out with old friends.  It was overcast and chilly but that didn't stop the boys from venturing into the cold, frigid waters!  Then we spend the rest of our time trying to get them warm again!  It was a great day.

School Carnival Fun!

Music basket
Set of drums for classroom

Our school had their annual carnival on Saturday.  The music department entered a basket of goodies for the silent auction and I worked at a bake sale specifically for music.  We've been enjoying a set of drums loaned to us!  We hope to buy our own in the fall!  Ashton enjoyed the wii station and the inflated slides, Cameron worked at the student council booth and helped me.  Derrik was there, being my support!  It was a hot but very fun day!

Recycled Hat Day

Cameron and Ashton sported recycled hats they made for school.  I don't know, maybe it will be a new trend?

Start Your Engines

Cameron, Ashton and I headed to the park on Sunday to try out Cam's new remote control car.  Ashton already had one so the two of them had fun racing and showing off!

Easter Day!

We had a wonderful day celebrating the Resurrection and enjoying the beautiful weather!  Cameron and Ashton did their baskets and participated in the hunt alone this year (E was still in bed!).  Cameron got a Lakers t-shirt, Ashton got a new Franklin dvd and Ethan got a Chinese yo-yo thingy.  :)

Like father, like son......have some chocolate with your breakfast!

It lives!  :)

Egg Decorating

Cameron and Ashton had fun decorating eggs last weekend.  They turned out pretty!  Another thing I'm learning about these guys, if the project takes too long then they may not stick around to see the final product.  :)  I did get pictures before they left so I'm happy!

Jam Session

Derrik and Ethan jammed together on the kitchen floor last night.  Ethan had figured out the bass line to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and then Derrik figured out the chords to join in on guitar.  I love it when they do that!  I grabbed a quick video.
