Here Comes the Surprise!

After Cameron's game, we headed to a pizza place for Cameron's soccer celebration.  What I didn't know, is that my husband and mother-in-law had phoned my friends and planned a party for me there!  And Dad and Suzanne were there!  I completely lost it!

I was so surprised!  I had a great party and felt so celebrated.  Here's a collage of the highlights:

Cameron's Last Game for the Spring

Cameron's last game of the season was on my birthday!  :)  After getting breakfast in bed, we all got ready and went to his game.  It was an exciting game - with Cameron taking a tumble and coming out during the second quarter after landing on his head.  I had visions of spending the day at the doctors.  But he recovered quickly and went in during the last quarter.  His team won and was undefeated!

Earth Day Musical Instruments

Every year for Earth Day, I ask 3-6 grade students to create musical instruments made out of recycled material.  This year was Ashton's first time!  He made a drum out of a plastic container, decorated it and added a string to hang it around his neck.  I took a video of his class making music with their instruments.

Braces Off!

Ethan got his braces off this week and he is beyond thrilled!  He only had them off for 20 months so his teeth really responded quickly.  He now has to adjust to retainers!  We LOVE his smile!!

Derrik's new car!

Derrik finally got himself a "new" used car!  He chose a 2000 Mercedes - because he doesn't do daily freeway driving and it was in excellent condition.  It's nice to see him treating himself to something nice!

SWARM

We did SWARM (Skits With A Redeeming Message) at church last weekend and a few photos were taken.  I thought I'd share!  I'm a part of the band and sing crazy songs with the kids.

Ashton was invited to a party on Saturday for a girl that lives across the street.  They've known each other since kindergarten and it's sweet that they care about each other.

Easter 2014

We had a wonderful Easter!  We woke up to see what was in the Easter baskets, and then headed to church.  Cameron got an opportunity to usher with Derrik!
After the service, we headed to a swimming pool with the grandparents to eat and swim.

Spring Break Event #5: LA Galaxy Game

Derrik, Cameron and I took his parents to a Galaxy soccer game last night.  Bonus: they WON!
We had a great Spring Break but we head back to school and work tomorrow.  BOO!  We're in the home stretch though - almost done!

Teppanyaki Japanese Food

We took the boys to their first Teppanyaki dinner experience!  Everyone was a good sport and tried new things and will never forget the chef lighting things on fire in front of us!  Wow! 

Spring Break Event #4: Indoor Rock Climbing

Yep, sound crazy and it just about was!  We all learned a lesson on never giving up, that's for sure!

Guitar Center - Sunset Boulevard

I had heard that this Guitar Center was THE place to take Ethan, as it has wall-to-wall guitars and is the largest around.  We were all blown away by the amount of things to see and play!

Spring Break Event #3: Hollywood!

We went down to Hollywood one day to walk around and be tourists.  Lots of interesting folks trying to make a living on Hollywood Boulevard!  We enjoyed seeing the stars along the street, a bus tour, the Hollywood wax museum and eating at the Hard Rock Café!

Cameron had the honor of being chosen as an MC for our school's talent show.  He had lines to memorize and many rehearsals to attend.  He did a great job!  I included just a brief video of one of the skits he was in where they were introducing an act.
