Promotion Ceremony

The last day of school of us means PROMOTION CEREMONY!  I helped with the music portion of the ceremony and was trying not to cry while watching my baby walk across the stage.  He earned two awards -  - the Silver Presidents Award for Academic Achievement AND the Heart to Heart Helping Hands award for volunteering at the school.  So proud of the young man he's becoming!

Father's Day 2014

Kickball Game

Derrik and Ethan played kickball played on a team against Cameron's 6th grade class last week.  It was a great game!  The 6th graders won of course!

Spring Dance 2014

The Spring Dance was last week!  Ashton and fellow 3rd graders performed a line dance (yee haw!) and Cameron's grade did a surf dance.  Lots of fun to see!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Ethan's Done!

Ethan finished his freshman year today!  So proud of him and his hard work.  We took him out to eat to celebrate!  His summer has begun.

Perfect Attendance!

Both Cameron and Ashton earned awards for perfect attendance this year!  I guess it's the gift of healthy kids and our wiring to be on time for things.  Ethan had perfect attendance, too!

Cameron has been running sound at the school assembly's.  Had to snap a few pictures since it will be his last time as a student there!

Sonic Run

Our family LOVES Sonic!  Crazy, right?  It's always a must when we visit Kansas.  Southern California doesn't have a lot of them but we found one an hour away.  So, we loaded up and went out to find it.  Yummy fun!

New Bikes

We got Cameron and Ashton new bikes last weekend!  We rode around Walmart and then went out Memorial day to try them out.

Cameron's Clarinet

Cameron is taking clarinet this fall and joining the band at school.  We were able to find a used one and he's been tinkering around with it, learning to play a few notes.  Very exciting!

Ethan the Sound Engineer

One of Ethan's birthday gifts was a session in a recording studio, learning how to edit recorded tracks.  It was an amazing experience and he hopes to continue training there and get even more experience in a potential future career!

Mother's Day Celebrations

Mother's day was awesome!  Both of the older boys gave me "shout-outs" on Instagram - so sweet!

Here Comes the Surprise!

After Cameron's game, we headed to a pizza place for Cameron's soccer celebration.  What I didn't know, is that my husband and mother-in-law had phoned my friends and planned a party for me there!  And Dad and Suzanne were there!  I completely lost it!

I was so surprised!  I had a great party and felt so celebrated.  Here's a collage of the highlights:

Cameron's Last Game for the Spring

Cameron's last game of the season was on my birthday!  :)  After getting breakfast in bed, we all got ready and went to his game.  It was an exciting game - with Cameron taking a tumble and coming out during the second quarter after landing on his head.  I had visions of spending the day at the doctors.  But he recovered quickly and went in during the last quarter.  His team won and was undefeated!

Earth Day Musical Instruments

Every year for Earth Day, I ask 3-6 grade students to create musical instruments made out of recycled material.  This year was Ashton's first time!  He made a drum out of a plastic container, decorated it and added a string to hang it around his neck.  I took a video of his class making music with their instruments.

Braces Off!

Ethan got his braces off this week and he is beyond thrilled!  He only had them off for 20 months so his teeth really responded quickly.  He now has to adjust to retainers!  We LOVE his smile!!
