Puerto Rico - Day 3

I spent the morning at the pool with a friend while Derrik and the other advisors had to attend a meeting - blah!  After lunch, we got on the bus to go on a scenic tour of old San Juan.  We saw the capitol building and visited the Castillo de San Cristobal, which was a fort built by Spain in 1783 to protect the city against land based attacks.
We finished the outing off by doing some shopping in downtown San Juan.

Puerto Rico - Day 2

After breakfast, we headed out on the bus to where the boat was docked.  We traveled to a secluded island and snorkeled there and had lunch.  Then we did some deep water snorkeling on the way back.  Dinner was at an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant.

Puerto Rico - Day 1

Derrik earned a trip to Puerto Rico through work so he and I packed up and went!  We left the boys and dog with the grandparents, who did a great job handling everything.  We had a great trip!  I will do my best to summarize each day to show you what we saw.

The first day was simply getting there.  We didn't make our first flight out of LAX because our bag didn't make the 45 minute cut-off prior to takeoff.  So we hung out at the airport to catch the next flight to Miami and then on to San Juan.  We didn't arrive at our hotel until midnight Eastern time and we hadn't eaten dinner so we ordered room service and went to bed.  On the agenda tomorrow: catamaran trip and snorkeling!

Dad and Suzanne Visit (1st Soccer Game and Marching Band Performance)

Dad and Suzanne stopped by this week to hang out with us!  It was so fun having them here!  Lots of eating out, driving around to pick up kids from school and we topped it off with a soccer game starring Cameron and a marching halftime show starring Ethan!

Double-checking some homework :)

Sadie, Sadie, Sadie...

She's fitting in with us quite nicely.  Maybe it's just the "honeymoon" period, but we're very happy with her!

Look for a photo of this handsome guy in your mailbox soon!

SHS Burger Bash Performance

Ethan and the marching band performed at the football burger bash.  They didn't march so I got a much better view of him and it was easier to hear all the instruments at once.  So excited for the football and competition season to start!

Meet Our Sadie

The boys after we told them we were going to adopt!

We welcomed Sadie into our home over the weekend.  She's a 2 year old Corgi/Chihuahua mix.  She's super sweet and is loving all the attention!!  We rescued her from a shelter in town.
