Competition #2 happened yesterday in our area at Valencia High School. Saugus band earned 2nd place and is improving their score every week! The Hubbards were all in attendance this week to cheer on our favorite clarinet player!

The band and color guard performed in their first competition on Saturday in Simi Valley! Derrik, Ethan, Brisa and I headed down to see and cheer them on! They played really well and came in third of the five bands that were in their division. Yay, Saugus!
The Saugus Band and Color Guard gave parents an opportunity to hear the tunes they play in the stands during football games but then get interrupted by the football game. :P It was also their last event before competition season begins. It was a great show!
It was a big night for the 8th grade band students! They got to hang out with the high school marching band for the evening, giving them a taste of what the band is like. Ashton had so much fun! His drum teacher, Bobby, was there and assigned Ashton to the second smallest bass drum for the evening. He got to warm up on it, carry and play it during the pre-game show, and also play it a few times during the football game for pep-tunes. Of course, Cameron was there playing his heart out and giving his little brother encouragement. It was a fun night!

Cameron and Ashton are on fall break Monday and Tuesday, so we took them on a hike to the Towsley Canyon Loop today. It was a fun adventure!
