Derrik's Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Derrik this week!  We had an early party with the parents and a family dinner the evening of his birthday.  He loved his presents and all the love!

Valencia Marching Band Competition: Valencia, CA

 Competition #4 happened on Thursday.  I volunteered to the ride the bus and be first aid for the night which means following the band around, carrying a large backpack full of supplies.  It was a windy night and during the performance, color guard poles and rifles took flight and hit a few band members in the face.  I passed out one ice pack!  The band earned their highest score of the season - 77.25 and came in 3rd place!  We only needed one more high score to be eligible for championships.  Our trip to the last competition on Saturday was cancelled by the district due to the fires in the area.  We are in negotiation with the band organization to try and attend championships without the last score we needed.  Hopefully, the band will get to attend.

Rampage Competition: COC stadium

We attended our third marching competition of the season last night in the COC stadium here in Sana Clarita.  Saugus played their entire show that they had just finished learning on Thursday!  They game in a few points shy of 3rd place in their division and we'll find out next weekend what our chances are of going on to Championships.  Two more competitions to go!

Halloween 2018

We had a quiet Halloween this year with no one really interested in dressing up or carving pumpkins.  I decided to make up a few treat bags and make pumpkin bread instead!  The boys were thrilled!

Last Galaxy Game

Cameron and Derrik headed to Carson for their last Galaxy game this season.  Unfortunately, the season is over for the Galaxy and the guys have loved having the free tickets this year!  In other news, I got a picture of the sad pup who is looking out the window, missing her two best guys.  It's been a busy weekend and she's missing their attention!

Hillsong Concert at Greek Theater

Cameron, Derrik and I headed to LA last night to catch Hillsong Worship at the Greek Theater.  Such a

great concert!

Gilchrist Farms: Marching Band Fundraiser

More Marching band posts!  Heehee!  Saturday was a fundraiser at Gilchrist farms!  I made some Pumpkin Spice cookies to sell and the family came out to watch the band play.

Friday Night: Saugus Marching Band Alumni Night!

Friday night's Saugus marching band night included the alumni!  Ethan was able to get the night off work so he could come and be a part of the evening.  He was given a bass drum and was a happy guy!  I worked first aid for a few hours that night and got some get on-the-field video.  It was a fun night!

Wildcat Classic Band Competition: Valencia, CA

Competition #2 happened yesterday in our area at Valencia High School.  Saugus band earned 2nd place and is improving their score every week!  The Hubbards were all in attendance this week to cheer on our favorite clarinet player!
