Remo Drum Circle

Dad Hubbard and I took a trip over to the Remo Drum circle this week!  It's an hour-long community drum circle, lead by a facilitator.  We had fun!

New car for Derrik and Cameron

Derrik got a newer car this week!  It's a 17 Toyota Corolla and in much better shape than his old Mercedes.  The neat part is that Cameron will get to use it on the days Derrik is working from home!  We've been needing a way for Cameron and Ashton to get to school this semester at 6:35 am every morning.  Problem solved!

Band Camp Week 1

Both boys survived their first week of band camp!  Cameron's been outside every morning and then inside for afternoon rehearsals and Ashton has been inside almost all week!  Being in the pit (or front ensemble) means he doesn't need to practice marching or learn the formations on the field.  It's a pretty sweet deal for a freshman!  This week things are taken up a notch with everyone outside every morning and a parent preview of the music on Friday afternoon.

Into the Woods at the Hollywood Bowl

Ethan, Derrik and I were able to get tickets with some friends to see Into the Woods at the Hollywood Bowl!  Such a fun show and lots of great music.  It reminded me of how many times Kristin, Mom and I watched it.  A great night!

Ethan's Certificate arrived!

It's official!  The certificate came in the mail this week and we're so happy that he's accomplished it!

Two high school students

Cameron and Ashton picked up their high school paperwork today!  Now to fill it all out so they can officially register for classes in a few weeks.  Wow!

Mom Hubbard birthday!

Funny story - I forgot to ask the bakery to add decoration and
picked up a very empty cake for the celebration.  I quickly made
some buttercream frosting and added my own "flowers!"

Cameron's Senior Photo Shoot

Cameron had his senior photo shoot last night at our church.  It's getting real - that he's really a senior this year!  Stay tuned for photo choices!

Ethan's Recording Connection Completion

We took Ethan to dinner this week to celebrate his completion of his Recording Connection program!  We're waiting on the certificate in the mail, but we decided to celebrate early.  Now the goal is to get connected with a studio for a job!  He's done great work and has totally impressed his teachers with his abilities.  We're very proud of him!

Kansas Visit!

I had such a great visit to Kansas last week!  Movie and pedicure with Mom, hitting the gym and Topeka High with Dad, a puzzle with Stephanie, kayaking with Suzanne, lounging in the lake and great food from Suzanne.  Thankful for a wonderful time!

Hosting Clarinet Summer Sectionals

We hosted a summer sectional for the clarinets on Saturday morning!  They have the music for the first movement of the field show and are getting together twice a week to learn it.  The section gained two new freshman and they spend time teaching them the ropes.  Since Cameron is a senior *what*, we held one at our house.  They got in some good practice and even did some marching outside.
