Competition #1: West Ranch Wildcat Classic

We had a great showing at our first competition!  The band scored a 72.5!  We were the only 4A
band there that could place so we won the 1st place trophy.  It was a great night!

Sounds of the Stadium

Since the band plays in the stand during football games, we don't typically hear all of the pep tunes they have prepared.  We do hear bits and pieces of it during time outs, but they have much more prepared that we don't hear.  At Sounds of the Stadium, the band plays pep tunes and the field show.  The whole show is in the last video I uploaded.

Family Outing

With our busy schedules, we opted to stay home for our day off this week.  We did take a trip to the mall and I got some photos.

Sounds of Conejo Thousand Oaks Exhibition

 We had our first exhibition last weekend and the band did a great job sharing their field how with 10 other bands.  Derrik and I helped with pit crew.  Competitions are coming!

Cameron and Ashton were both out on the field on Friday to debut the new field show, in uniform!  They did great!

Cameron made it into the youth group weekly video last week.  He and the other technical director happened to walk in the video room to ask a question while they were recording the video so they put both guys in it! 

One year of braces!

A notification of a memory popped up on my phone today - Ashton's been in braces for one year!  We had to do a side-by-side photo to see the difference.  Looking good!

Homecoming Pep Rally and Football Game

Our first band event was homecoming!  The boys participated in the school-wide rally and played a bit at the homecoming football game.  They won't officially wear their uniforms until the game in two weeks.  Here comes band season!

Classroom Updates

I've moved classrooms (again) and decided to do some updates to make the space better.  I asked Derrik and Dad Hubbard to help me create a ukulele wall so I can mount them on the wall instead of using floor space to store them.  Derrik managed most of the sanding and painting, while Dad Hubbard helped us get them secured onto the wall. 

Another update is keyboard covers!  I bought some on ebay and had my sewing neighbor, Ami, help me get them to fit correctly.  She also added Cricut numbers on them!  They will be so nice compared to the blankets I used for years.  

My final project is to get the table skirt Mom made to secure to the tables!  I hope to finish that off this week!  So fun to decorate!

Labor Day Mall trip

We spent labor day by taking a trip to the mall!  Cameron had some birthday money to spend and we walked around and looked.  It was fun!
