Grandma Bonnie's Birthday Song

 

When it was time to call Grandma Bonnie for her birthday, I grabbed Ethan and Cameron and asked them to help me sing "Happy Birthday!"  Ashton didn't get to participate because he was still in class online.  After he was done for the day, I told him what we'd done.  He was bummed he missed it!  So, we recorded a second sing-along so Ashton could join in.  Cameron shows up at the end.  

Music Teaching Videos and Jingle

 

I'm back making videos for students.  Which schools the videos are actually for is a bit of a mystery still, but I'm glad to have both Cameron and Ethan on my production team!  Ethan helped me write a music jingle for my video intro and of course, Cameron helped with video footage.  I'll post a sample after I get some feedback from the district.  Stay tuned!

Since we're currently redoing the master bathroom, Derrik agreed to take down the hearts I made for him over a year ago.  ❤ I bought him a frame that perfectly holds them all so he can post them by his desk.  

Ashton's Braces Update

Ashton had an orthodontist appointment this week to take pictures for a retainer!  The next appointment will be removing braces!  Whoo hoo!  The Hubbards are almost completely finished with braces!  Hallelujah!

Grandpa Hubbard's Music Video

 

Grandpa Hubbard asked Cameron to do some filming to create a video of one of his songs.  It was fun to watch both in action!

Hubbard Boys French Fry Challenge

The boys tried their hand at guessing which fast food places french fries came from.  We did tape the taste test but unfortunately, the footage didn't end up working.  So, you get photos!  Cameron came in first with a score of 4, Ashton came in 2nd with 3 and Ethan got a score of 2.

Virtual Back-to-School Night

 

Had another COVID first - videos submitted by teachers sharing their back-to-school speeches.  While it was helpful to see faces and get class details, it wasn't quite the same.  We were done in about an hour!  Ashton's got a great group of teachers!  The current plan looks like he has the opportunity to return as early as mid-October.  We'll see!

Two College Students!

                                

Ethan and Cameron started online classes this week for our local community college!  They are both writing papers and attending zoom classes each week.  In addition to their basic requirements they are each taking an elective unique to their degrees.  So exciting!  It's a long way from this - or was it just the other day?

Cameron #19

 Cameron had his 19th birthday over the weekend!  We celebrated him well with presents, eating out, yummy foods, lots of cake and ice cream and lots of LOVE!  He had a great day!  Thanks to all for celebrating him with us!

Ashton's First Day!

 

Ashton started his online classes this week and has had a great start to his sophomore year!  

Sadie Surgeries

 Sadie had two procedures on Monday.  One was to remove a cyst that had grown in her neck and the other was doing a dental cleaning and removing dead or cracked teeth.  She had quite a day!  She is home now and doing great.  The downside is now post-care that requires oral medicines two times a day.  Cameron and Derrik have a pretty good system down to get it done!  We're happy to have our girl healthy and happy.

In other news, she will now need to start paying 

off her surgeries by doing commercials.  lol

What's Ashton up to?

Ashton begins his sophomore year at Saugus High School on Tuesday, August 11th.  He is taking a full load this year: Band, English, Algebra 2, Chemistry and Mod Civ.  We did a COVID friendly registration last week and then created a work space for him in the bonus room.  He now has his own space instead of working at the kitchen table!  He will be completely online for 5 weeks and then the district may offer us small group classes after that.

What's Cameron up to?

Cameron continues to work at our church as a Technical Assistant and a technical intern for the Student Ministries.  He is also learning how to create wedding videos by shadowing a professional.  He begins classes at College of the Canyons to get his Associates degree in Filmmaking the last week of August.

I'm attaching a video he was highlighted in giving announcements to the Student Ministry students.  He created a blooper video as well!  Enjoy!

What's Ethan up to?

Ethan's always up to something musical....he has officially posted all of his music on BandCamp, which I will link below.  He is doing freelancing by editing audio books and has been hired by Grandpa Hubbard to help record an album, which involves several recording sessions throughout the week.  He begins classes at College of the Canyons for an Associates degree in Sound Production the end of this month.

The Hubbard's Cheeseburger Challenge

On the list of things to do this summer was to hold a cheeseburger taste test and see if we could guess where the cheeseburgers were from.  The choices were: McDonald's, In-and-Out, Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr. and Wendy's.  We filmed the experience and posted the youtube link below. Cameron helped with video and editing. It was so fun!  I went last (by myself) and failed.  It's been a long time since I've eaten a fast food cheeseburger, I guess!
