Festival Concert for Ashton

We attended Ashton's Festival concert with the Wind Ensemble.  Ashton played on the bells and also played the timbani!

Ashton's Open House

 We attended our very last Open House at Saugus High School!  Ashton took us around to all of her classes and we got to meet his teachers.  He's done so well and we are so proud of all his hard work!

Cameron heads to Portland

 Cameron and his friend, Brian, took a trip to Portland to see a Ben Rector concert.  He's getting really good and doing quick adventures!  They consumed a lot of coffee and saw a great concert!

We own a home in Tennessee!

 As of this week, we officially own a home in TN!  We took the family out for dinner to celebrate.  Looking forward to this next adventure!

Cameron's Asia Trip July '23

Cameron has been asked by the church to join the team going to southeast Asia the end of July!  He will be doing some video work of the trip and helping the team to run a VBS for kids there.  We're so excited that he gets to go!

Tennessee trip

 We did a quick 3-day trip to Memphis this week.  The goal was to close on Wednesday but some pieces got held up at the lender and we were granted an extension until this coming week.  We got to see the house in person!!  We also got to show Ashton around Germantown.  Ashton got to participate in a dinner group with a life skills group that he's thinking about joining.  I met with the owner of the Kindermusik studio in town and got to see her studio.  Overall, it got us so excited about our move!!

In other news, while we were experiencing 80 degree weather in TN, So Cal got another dusting of snow!  We got two videos from the older boys.

Old Videos

In the midst of packing, we found several old camcorder tapes and got them converted to a flashdrive.  It was fun to look back on our years in both Wamego and California at our first house.  It was a long time ago and just yesterday.  :)

SNOW??!!!

We had white stuff falling from the sky this weekend!  It was very exciting and quickly melted but it's a big deal around here to have snow.  We also had really strong winds that destroyed trees around town.

Valentine's Day

 Chocolate, flowers, small gifts, sweet words and dinner out?  Sounds like a nice Valentine's Day!  Bonus? A light-show in the car wash!!  Lol

Superbowl

We had a Superbowl watch gathering at our house and invited Joy to watch the game with us.  She'd never sat through a football game before (no brothers) so we had fun teaching her the game (plus watching the commercials).  There was also a Super Smash tournament that Ashton created after the Superbowl.  It was a fun night!

Katie's Teaching Video Unit #8

I started my 8th teaching video unit this week.  This unit completes two full years of video.  It will be my last video in this house but I hope to stay on with the district and work remotely on another 4 units in the new place!  This unit focuses on the 6 notes of the treble clef, jazz music and salsa music using three books from Freddie the Frog.
