Bulldog Bandstand
Ethan entered the school talent show with his friend, Kemper. The music had to be from the 50's and 60's, since the school had it's first official year in 1961. The boys picked the song, "Wipeout" and Ethan borrowed an electric guitar from a local music store for the performance. Kemper's mom, Debbie, posted a video of it on Facebook. There's a link to it on my wall. We were so proud of Ethan and how much he has learned on guitar over the last year!

Making a Mask
Every member of the sixth grade class at school had to make a mask of their face for the history unit they're doing. Ethan and I went yesterday to make his.
First, you have to pull all his hair back with a fabulous hair band. Next, you lather a ton of vaseline on his face to make sure those great eyebrows don't get ripped out.

Then, you cover his face with strips of paper covered in a plaster powder that causes it to stick together, forming a mask.
It takes a little while to dry but when it's finished, you have a mask of your face! Once they're completely dry, the kids will paint them. Pretty cool project!

Hail? Snow? What is it?
We had a so-cal winter storm here yesterday. The forecast was for snow so the boys were anxiously waiting for it to come. Well, something like snow came and left, within about five minutes. There were little tiny balls of snow, not ice. We called it "snail" since it was a combination of snow and hail. It's not much to brag about considering all the winter the rest of the country has had but we sure get worked up over anything white falling from the sky. We caught a quick picture and video, just to show you.
Valentines Day
We had a really nice Valentine's Day! Derrik made it very special for the boys and I. The boys woke up to donuts for breakfast (which I'm sure their teachers appreciated later in the morning!) and when I got out of the shower I found a shaving cream note on the mirror and roses! Wow! Cameron made little heart notes and posted them around the house. The boys exchanged cards and candy with their classmates and I even got a Valentine's song from one of the 4th grade classes that I taught that morning.
Look at my pictures!
Ashton has been creating masterpieces on the computer and usually needs me to take a picture of it. I thought I'd share.

Awards and Celebrations
Ethan was honored yesterday at school and earned a scholarship award. We are very proud of him! All three boys have earned awards now and we are so pleased with how well they are doing.
Ashton and his class celebrated the 100th day of school yesterday with special hats, fruit loop necklaces and a visit from Zero the Hero (who is a superhero). What a fun day!
Mother-Son Dessert
I spent last Wednesday with Ethan and Cameron at their Mother-Son dessert up at church. How fun to spend the evening with them! They both shared what they appreciate about me. Ethan likes that I don't always make him clean his room and Cameron likes how I cheer him up when he's sad. Very sweet!

A Hole in your Grin
For the Love of the Penguin
Ethan desperately wanted to have a Club Penguin (game website) account. We thought doing some work for us might be in order so we made him a list. Within a few hours, he had cleaned the bathrooms, vacuumed the floor, washed both cars, and much more! We were very impressed! I got some photos of him washing the cars.

Michael Jackson: Oh What an Experience!
"Beat it! Just beat it, beat it, just beat it, ugh!" Yep, I hear that around the house a lot these days. Thank you Papa Ron and Grandma Suzanne for the cool new wii game!
Happy Birthday Ashton!
We celebrated Ashton's birthday on Saturday and went to Chuck E Cheese. He had a great time! Then on Sunday, we had a quiet birthday with presents and banana pancakes. He is so happy to be 6!

Snow!
Santa Clarita had snow Sunday night for the first time since 1989! It was more than just a little, it actually was enough to make snowballs and a snowman! The boys were thrilled and Grandma Bonnie and I liked watching it from inside. What fun!

| These are cold faces that say, "let's just go home." |
Grandma Bonnie came into town just in time to celebrate the new year! We spent New Years eve at Magic Mountain, showing her our favorite rides. It was soooo cold! We stayed long enough to show her the sky tower view and buy her a funnel cake. Yum! We barely made it to midnight and then got up early to watch the Rose Bowl Parade!

We ate out a few times, made cookies, and she helped me with little projects around the house that I'd wanted to get done. We loved your visit Grandma Bonnie! Come back soon!

Juggling Lessons
Cameron got juggling balls for Christmas and Derrik agreed to teach him how to juggle. I got a short video of their lesson tonight.
Christmas concert
Both Ethan and Cameron got paper jamz guitars for Christmas and Ashton got a new microphone. So, it seemed like the perfect time for the band to put on a conert for us, don't you think?
Christmas Morning
True to our agreement, the boys did not wake us up until 6 a.m. Unfortunately, they had been waking each other up starting around 4 a.m., just to let each other know it was almost time to get up. Anyway, the boys ripped through the presents and I did my best to capture the moments on camera as they happened so fast. We enjoyed monkey bread for breakfast and played with our new toys all day!
