Ashton's Labels

Knives, forks and sores?

Water and goldfish

If you're new to our kitchen and aren't sure where things are, Ashton has made sure that you'll find your way around real quick!  We found these great little labels on EVERYTHING a few nights ago.  This guy loves post-its and had a lot of fun figuring out how to spell stuff!

We're thankful for Derrik

Celebrating Derrik at lunch on Father's Day!

The exploded tire
We had a scare a week ago when the tire on the van blew while Derrik was filling it with air.  The impact blew him backwards, scratched up his face, broke his glasses and caused ringing in his ears.  Everything has returned to normal except his left ear  (the one closest to the blast).  He will visit a specialist this week to determine the extent of the damage.  Today, we as a family stop and count our blessings that he is okay.  We love you, Daddy!

This is what I saw when I came to get him......so scary.

The straight pin that was in his shirt - bent at a 90 degree angle after the blast.

Spring Dance at SCE

Cameron and Ashton finished out their school year this week and performed in the annual Spring dance.  Cameron's grade did a square dance and Ashton's grade did the hokey-pokey.  Lots of fun to watch!

Field Trip to Placerita Canyon

I got to attend Ashton's class field trip a few weeks back.  We went to Placerita Canyon Nature Center.  Lots of rescued animals, trails to hike and history to see.

Spring Programs

Cameron and Ashton have both finished their class programs for the year.  Cameron performed "Gold Rush or Bust" and was an argonaut.  Ashton performed "How Does Your Garden Grow?" and shined as a ladybug - with a speaking part!  So proud of these guys and all their hard work!
Got to love the goofy face  :)

Rock the Rhythm

A few of our 6th graders

Our drum leader
The clock timing our drum circle for the record

Rock the Rhythm, Beat the Odds, is a community-wide event that I attended on Friday with 7,600 sixth and seventh graders from local school districts. We met at College of the Canyon’s Cougar Stadium to break a Guinness World Record for the largest drum circle and to promote the importance of arts in our schools.  It was hot but a very rewarding experience!  I didn't get photos of Ethan but he was there as well.  We'll find out in a few weeks if we broke the record or not!

Birthday/Mother's Day

Ashton made this for me at school.  Aww....

Lots of fun over the last few days!  These guys know how to make the only girl in the house feel special.  Lots of eating out, shopping, hugs and homemade cards have filled my cup to overflowing.  I'm a blessed gal!
