Soccer Banquet

We attended Cameron's Saugus soccer banquet last night.  He and his team were recognized as well as the JV and Varsity teams.

Music Room and Beginning Band Pics

I've been doing lots of rhythm activities at school - creating patterns with craft sticks, drawing rhythms and for the 5th graders, bouncing to the beat!  It's a unit the kids look forward to all year.

Beginning band photos were taken this week for the yearbook.  They are doing so well!  Concert is coming in May!

Band Tour

Cameron went on the band tour last weekend.  The band went to San Luis Obispo and performed at the Farmer's Market, toured Hearst Castle in San Simeon, and in Monterey visited the aquarium, the beach and then symphony!  He had a great trip!!

Festival Band Concert

The older boys performed in the Festival Band Concert at school this week.  The new director asked all men to wear black formal attire and they looked sharp!  Ethan played timpani, bass drum and chimes and Cameron played clarinet.  It was a lovely concert!

6th Grade Mask Making

Another 6th grade event happened this week - mask making!  This is our third time doing the event but Derrik's first time helping me.  Ashton asked me to dig up old photos of his older brothers doing the same thing.

He was glad when it was over!
Three masks, three boys over six years

Dr. Seuss Day

Ashton and I celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by wearing matching shirts with my favorite quote of his, "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?"

6th Grade Panoramic pic

Ashton and the 6th graders at school got their picture taken this week!  This signifies the beginning of the end of the school year!  Wow!

Cameron's Galaxy Day

Season ticket holders got to attend a player signing event last weekend.  Cameron and Derrik headed to the stadium and Cam was able to get pictures and autographs from several players!  He was so excited!

We headed to the park over the long weekend to get out after the rain and get a chance to fly the Skyviper!

Ethan Composing

Ethan and his choir went to a clinic and Grandma Hubbard got some great pics of his performance.  One of the choirs that performed showcased a piece written by a choir member.  That inspired Ethan to write his own piece for his choir!  The original idea is finished but now he's in the editing phase.  He has also shared copies with both his choir and band teachers.  Stay tuned!

A date with Ashton

Ashton and I braved Pacific storm Lucifer and went out on a date Friday.  He's been anxious to see Lego Batman so he headed out in the rain to see it.  We arrived at the theater to find they had a power outage but that was fixed.  Then the parking lot was completely flooded when we left.  Our back yard was pretty flooded as well.  Cameron had to attend a varsity soccer game and sat in the rain for three hours.  So crazy!

Ethan Love Choir Concert

Ethan and the Concert Choir put on a concert this week.  He sang one song with the guys and a few with the choir.  They did so great!  I added two videos below.

Valentine's Day!

Dinner and a movie date
We had a lovely Valentine's Day at our house!  Flowers, chocolate, presents, and rice krispie treats - who could ask for anything more?
