Cameron's San Francisco Band Tour

Cameron here! Here is a quick summary of what I got up to in San Francisco for our band tour to showcase our spring lineup of music that we later brought to Festival for judges.

We first traveled to California State University Bakersfield and Stanford University to receive a masterclass from Dr. Sakomodo and Dr. Gavin. It was a great experience for our ensemble to listen for feedback and helpful tips for us to become better musicians.

We then did some incredible sightseeing around San Francisco, including The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Pier 39, and more! It was a super cool experience to travel around and look at all of these amazing sights.

Our 3 day trip to San Francisco was an unbelievable opportunity for me and the whole band, and I am incredibly grateful to have been able to be apart of it!

Ethan's new album

Ethan released another album this week!  He has worked so hard for the last year recording instruments and vocals and then mixing all the tracks together just right.  We're so impressed and proud of all his hard work and passion doing something he's so good at!

Saugus High School Open House

With Cameron in San Francisco, Ethan stepped in and joined us taking Ashton up to the high school for Saugus' open house.  We took in the freshman orientation and walked around some of the classrooms, highlighting some of Cameron's classes.  It was a fun night!

We found Cameron's forensics project on the
BTK killer from Wichita, KS
Posing outside of the band room, which was locked
due to the tour.  :(

SNOW?

We had some snow/hail earlier this week!  Strange, white pellets falling from the sky!  The kids at school went nuts.  It stayed on the ground for a short time and quickly disappeared.

Recall Conference and Dates

Cameron worked at the Student Recall Conference at church and did the slides for the music and speaker.  Since we was gone all weekend, Derrik and I took Ethan and Ashton out on little dates.

Valentine's Day 2019

Flowers, love notes, chocolate, OH MY!  We had a great Valentine's Day!  I tried something new this year - 14 days of notes for all 4 guys in my life!  I woke up to red roses from Derrik and treated the boys to chocolate and Starbucks cake pops!  Yum!

Honor Band Auditions

Cameron and Ashton both auditioned this weekend for the district honor band.  Ashton had to learn a piece on the snare drum, bell kit and timpani, while Cameron played two pieces of music on his clarinet.  They have both been practicing a lot and even Ethan helped Ashton with some of his music to help him get ready.  The audition is a great experience, even if you don't make honor band.   Results will be posted this week.
I got a picture of Cameron before he left for his audition
but forgot to get one of Ashton!

Ethan enrolled in Recording Connection

After working and searching for the perfect program, Ethan is officially enrolled as a student at Recording Connection.  He does online classes to complete his certificate program and also spends several hours each week at a recording studio in Glendale with a "mentor" who will oversee his studies and train him on working in a studio.  He is very excited!  For more about the program, click here.

Ashton's 14!!

For the first time that we know of, Ashton DID NOT have school on his birthday!  He got to stay at home, open presents and have a fun day with no school!  Wow!  We cannot believe that he's 14!  He had a great day, everyone!  Thanks for the love!

We sat and watched him play the new game
he got.
