I volunteered at Project Linus yesterday and made two blankets to donate to their organization. My friend, Silvia, joined me. Project Linus donated blankets to the 2,000+ students at Saugus High School after the November shooting.

Project Linus' Mission: Provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”
We had a nice, quiet morning and had surprises for all! The boys each got a gift card, a small gift and of course, chocolate! I woke up to red roses and a coffee gift card!

We were able to all go on a quick hike in Elsmere Canyon today. It was short, but good to get some fresh air and be together. Sadie, the wanna-be hiking dog, also came along.
We finally got one of our home improvement projects done! We've been needing to put lights over our kitchen table for awhile. With Dad Hubbard's help, we got it done! We love it and can now see each other better at dinner. :)
Ashton had a great birthday! It's hard to believe he's 15. This past year he: started high school, joined the marching band, started attending a monthly gaming tournament, grew taller than me and continues to amaze us with his kindness and all-around awesomeness! Our day of fun included pancakes, In-and-Out for lunch and Spaghetti and Meatballs (he requested that I make a double batch, so he could have extra), lots of presents and even a viewing of him beating the same "boss" three times in a row in his video game! He had a great day!

Ethan was asked to perform one of his songs at a Saugus beneft last night! He did so well - back story - one of his friend's dad (yes, the one that works for Ringo Starr) put together a concert to support the families affected by the Saugus shooting in November. He invited Ethan to perform one of his songs at the concert! Also performing in an all-star band were Steve Lukather (guitarist from the band, Toto), Colin Hay (vocalist from Men at Work), Greg Bissonette (drummer from David Lee Roth and), Warren Ham (vocalist and sax player from the Ringo Starr band), Amy Keys (singer), Jeff Babko (keyboard player), Mick Mahan (bassist for Pat Benatar) and Richard Marx!
