SNOW??!!!

We had white stuff falling from the sky this weekend!  It was very exciting and quickly melted but it's a big deal around here to have snow.  We also had really strong winds that destroyed trees around town.

Valentine's Day

 Chocolate, flowers, small gifts, sweet words and dinner out?  Sounds like a nice Valentine's Day!  Bonus? A light-show in the car wash!!  Lol

Superbowl

We had a Superbowl watch gathering at our house and invited Joy to watch the game with us.  She'd never sat through a football game before (no brothers) so we had fun teaching her the game (plus watching the commercials).  There was also a Super Smash tournament that Ashton created after the Superbowl.  It was a fun night!

 Derrik found a song he liked and then jumped on the piano to play along with it!  I caught him on video.

Katie's Teaching Video Unit #8

I started my 8th teaching video unit this week.  This unit completes two full years of video.  It will be my last video in this house but I hope to stay on with the district and work remotely on another 4 units in the new place!  This unit focuses on the 6 notes of the treble clef, jazz music and salsa music using three books from Freddie the Frog.

Ethan's Band Plays

Ethan and his band (King Blue) played at an Art Exchange Market on Friday.  They played all of Ethan's music which always makes me smile.  He's so talented and we're so proud of his work!

Cameron's New Special Friend, Joy!

Cameron has a new girlfriend!  Her name is Joy and she is so very sweet!!  She's the third of four girls.....I mean, how can he go wrong? ;)   I have a few photos to share:

Ashton's #18

 For his 18th birthday, Ashton asked if he could please stay home from school.  We agreed!  He slept in, had pancakes, burgers and fries for lunch, played with his new game, enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and then opened the last of his presents.  He even treated us to some of his mad gaming skills as he beat a few bosses in his Hallow Knight game!  Happy birthday to my baby!

New Years Eve 2021

We had a pretty quiet New Years Eve!  Ethan and Cameron were out with friends so Ashton, Derrik and I watched some TV and then decided to ring in the new year MST and headed to bed around 11:30 pm.  I made 7 layer bars and 7 layer dip.   Happy 2023, everyone!  It should be an exciting one!!

Purchased a house in TN!

Our offer on a house in TN was accepted today!  We will (most likely) be moving there in the month of June.  Lots to do between now and then!  Seems Derrik bought me a house for our anniversary....lol!

Dates with the Boys

 We spent this week taking each of the boys out for lunch!  Such a fun way to get one-on-one time with them.  We sure are blessed to have such great boys!

Anniversary #26

 We celebrated our 26th anniversary by trying out a new restaurant in Newhall.  Great food, fun atmosphere and lots of holiday lights up and down Main street!  

Christmas Day

We started the day with monkey bread and presents.  Cameron had to head up to church to work tech for the morning service so we rushed things a bit but still had lots of time to enjoy our Christmas morning.  Oh the many faces I captured!  We attended the Christmas day service and then came home to nap, relax and enjoy a slow day.  We had spaghetti and meatballs later in the evening (breaking tradition a bit here but it was fun!)
